VapourSeal Multi-Purpose addresses this by forming a permanent weathertight barrier over the joist, preventing water ingress. Its closed cell construction blocks moisture, while the high tack acrylic adhesive seals around fasteners to maintain protection at every penetration, helping extend the lifespan and performance of the subframe.

VapourFlash and VapourBand form a 2-layer defence around external openings, creating a secondary barrier that diverts water away from the building envelope while allowing internal moisture to escape.

Ensuring thermal, acoustic, and airtight continuity across wall and window junctions is critical to protecting the building envelope.
Window and door connections and irregular voids are some of the most vulnerable points in the building envelope. Gaps between the frame and structure are a primary source of air leakage and moisture ingress, which can lead to reduced energy efficiency, condensation risk, and long-term structural decay.
VapourBand provides a permanent, high-performance seal at these critical junctions. As a pre-compressed expansion tape, it is installed into the gap and gradually expands to fill irregular openings, creating a consistent seal across the full depth of the joint. Once under compression, VapourBand delivers a durable airtight and weathertight barrier while remaining vapour permeable, allowing the structure to manage moisture without trapping it.

It creates a clean, unobstructed cavity with no packers, enabling continuous installation of VapourBand around the full window perimeter. This delivers a weathertight seal with improved thermal and acoustic performance.

Sill Protection
Poorly sealed windows are one of the most common causes of water ingress around window openings. Over time, water can track through cladding joints, corners, fixings, and window seals. If moisture reaches the timber frame at the base of the opening, it can lead to swelling, mould growth, timber rot, and long term structural damage.
By using sill protection tape such as StretchSeal or VapourSeal Multi-Purpose, a water and vapourtight barrier can be formed along the window sill, corners, and penetrations. Combined with a minimum 5 degree sloped sill, this helps create a controlled drainage path that directs water safely back to the exterior while protecting the timber subframe from moisture ingress.
Additionally, the VapourSeal Sill Pan is a high quality PVC sill tray with an integrated slope that installs into the window opening over the weather resistive barrier. It provides a dedicated water management path at the base of the window frame, helping divert water away from the building envelope.
